Like any good sports-fanatic-family, we’ve been watching a lot of Olympics over the past few weeks. Not that NBC’s coverage has been all that good, of course, but that’s besides the point. Inspired by this great exhibition of athletic prowess, our Little Ones have been working hard getting into shape, as they gear up for their future Olympic debuts.
When the Little Mister isn’t eating or sleeping, he loves to stand in our laps like a Little Boxer…bobbing and weaving as he scans the room for his opponents.
He’s a strong Little Guy, and a happy one at that.

Apparently his Daddy loved to do this as well when he was a baby. There’s a shocker…a child of mine taking after his/her Daddy?! FORTY WEEKS, people. I carried each of my children for forty weeks (plus a few days more for Little E), and they have the audacity to get most of their genes from their Dad?! Not that I have any issue with Mike, I’ll have you know. I think he’s pretty swell. I’d just like a Little Credit for my effort!
Truth be told, I think that the Little Mister looks a little bit more like me…though that could also just be wishful thinking. But I’ll take what I can get.
The Little Miss has been getting into Olympic shape as well, swimming like a fish at the beach and in the pool (watch out, Michael Phelps progeny!), playing “ball!” with her Mama (I’ll be the crazy fan in the stands as she leads the U.S. volleyball team to gold), and running anywhere her legs will take her.
But she doesn’t stop there. Being a forward-thinking Little Lady, she’s also developing her vocal talents in case she decides to pursue a musical career instead.

We’re crossing our fingers that American Idol has microphones made out of popsicles by the time she makes it to the big stage.
Suffice to say, there’s never a dull moment in the Wright household. 2032 Olympics, here we come!!!
End Note: As a quick aside, the Little Miss hit a big milestone last night that made her parents very proud. She slept for the first time, and ALL night long, in her new big girl bed!
I’ve never heard a more earnest rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle”! Hooray, Annabelle!
Hey! stop all that growing up until we get down there! Can’t believe Elliott is so big and Annabelle is already in her big-girl bed!! Love and kisses from Paris
Annabelle’s ardent solo was a gold medal performance, as was Elliott’s bob-hickup-and-weave! Their future competitors don’t stand a chance.
Thanks for sharing the latest. Man, your kids are growing up soo fast.
Love you all.
LOVED the song!! I don’t think I’ve seen it performed with such passion before. Too cute!
Little E does favor you in the category of looks!
Little Elliot is feisty and strong. He’s not even 2 months old yet….another child prodigy? Twinkle, twinkle little Star was GREAT. Annabelle sings and pronounces the lyrics like a much older child. Thanks for sharing.
Duane fixed my computer. It’s much better. Thanks for sharing your family’s adventures with me. Do I sign up now for Grand Ole Opry–or will it be another venue?
Love you all,
Aunt Marjorie
