Today marked the first communion for our Little Mister,
Covid style!
Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
-Matthew 26:26-27
He had such a blast learning about what it means to celebrate communion with his buddies at Christ Central Church.
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
-John 6:35
[Jesus said] “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
-John 6:47-51
That they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
-John 17:21
While I have no fondness for the health crisis of late, and how awkward it makes life right now, it takes nothing away from special days like this one.
Our hearts are FULL for our Beloved Boy and this important step in his precious walk with the Lord.
O Lord, you have searched me and known me!…
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
-Psalm 139:1, 13-16
We love this Little-Big Man so much. He is full to the brim of joy, courage and devotion.
Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
-Psalm 8:2
Grandparents were super excited to celebrate him too!
Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul…For I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
3 John 1:2&4

“No-Eyed Willy and the Holy Flamingo”
How blessed are we to get to be his family?!?
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
-Deuteronomy 6:4-7
(Us trying to act like we’re normal…)
(And then giving up and just keepin’ it real…)
Happy first communion, Little Mister!
We are proud of you!
Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
-Proverbs 22:6
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
– 2 Timothy 3:14-15
