CC Field Day!

As a homeschooling family, we are a part of the loveliest, most fun, most encouraging co-op…our South Durham Classical Conversations Community.  We’ve learned so much and gone on so many great adventures with this group.  Our CC family is truly our Homeschool Tribe.

We ended our CC school year in May with a crazy, fun, HOT, energetic, sweaty, HOT, hilarious, HOT field day at Herndon Park.  Did I mention it was HOT?

(Note the red Mama face…this was after the family relay race.  I may have run as fast as I could urge my old-Mama-legs to go.  Because Julie.  I can’t help myself.)

And so fun.

I loved watching my kids each find their stride – literally – and rock it in their races.  Their long legs and insatiable thirsts for MOVEMENT definitely paid off.

Here’s my 400M race winner for the 4-5 year olds…

And my 100M dash winner for the 7-8 year olds…

Their (highly competitive) Mama may have been jumping up and down and cheering at the tippy top of her lungs during their races.  And then tearing up as I saw them cross the finish line, faces glowing with pride and triumph.

Maybe.

Like I said, I couldn’t (can’t!) help myself.

It was such a great day with great challenges and great people, all of whom we love so much.

Even if it was HOT.

Did I mention yet that it was HOT?
