To keep things interesting, we in the Wright household like to do things in spurts. Like in 2010, Mike and I bought and moved into a new house, I started a job, I graduated from Business school, and we had a baby…all in just 4 months! Our mantra seems to be, “Why do one thing at a time when you can do twenty?!” We don’t do it on purpose, I’ll have you know…meaning that our planning skills could probably use a little work.
Well that same mantra was manifested this summer when we piled all of our vacations into a one-month period. We planned it perfectly so that we would have to sweat out the summer in hot Durham, only to go away when the temperature started cooling. Pretty bright, huh?
All that to say we’ve taken some great trips at the end of the summer. The Little Miss and I are currently living it up in sunny San Diego, to be joined by her Daddy in a week (more on that later). And in early August, we took a roadtrip to Annapolis and Delaware to party hardy with the Plaxico and Wright clans.
Here are a few photos from the weekend we spent in Annapolis. Delaware photos will follow soon after!
A little sidenote about the photos…
Though the Little Lovebug seems to have inherited nearly all of her genes from her Daddy, she did get one thing from me. It’s what I’d like to call the “Lord-help-me-the-camera-is-out-blank-stare.” If you peruse through my childhood photos you’ll see Ashley beaming in every shot, whereas I always appeared to have just woken up from a nap.
Looking at these photos, it seems as though our children are following in our footsteps. Oh well. Hopefully it means my Little Stoic will also inherit some of my good traits…like loving to rock out in the car to 80s music, or having zero self control when it comes to all things chocolate.
Thanks for sharing these great photos and wonderful memories.
Love you all.
