Thanksgiving

I am happy to report that we enjoyed (and survived) Annabelle’s first Thanksgiving.  Preparations for the holiday were a bit overwhelming, as yours truly (the Crazy Mama) had offered to host the entire Wright family, plus a few neighbors, for a long weekend full of food and festivities.  Thankfully, Annabelle enjoyed cuddling with said Mama in her Moby wrap during the MANY trips to Target, Home Goods, Kroger’s, Target, Harris Teeter, Target, Costco, World Market, and did I mention Target???

Grammie (Paula) and Grandpop (Rusty) arrived on Tuesday night, just in time hear the squeals of delight from Mike and me about Annabelle’s new tooth (see my last post).

The holiday took an unexpected turn when early Wednesday morning, while I was trying to catch up on a few Z’s, I awoke to the terrible sound of Mike falling down the stairs…all while carrying our Little Miss!  But being the amazing Daddy that he is, he kept Annabelle free from harm.  Sadly, his knee was not so lucky.

So poor Mike spent most of the holiday bonding with his ice pack and wobbling around on his handy-dandy new crutches.  Though I don’t think he minded all of the pampering he received from his doting Mom and Wife, who with the help of the rest of the fabulous Wright ladies (Erin, Courtney and Laura), still managed to prepare some delicious Thanksgiving meals.

Annabelle handled the accident in stride, and relished all of the lovin’ from her grandparents, aunts and uncles.

(Sharing recipe secrets with Aunt Erin, Mama and Grammie)

(Getting a taste for her cousins’ toys with Aunt Courtney, Uncle Paul and Ethan)

(Being mesmerized by Uncle Adam)

(Cuddling with Grammie and Grandpop)
(And Aunt Laura and Uncle Jon too!)

All in all, it was a great holiday that left us incredibly thankful for the many blessings in our lives.  We are so thankful for our sweet Little One, our health and well being, the love and support of family, and most importantly, our Great God who cares for and protects us each and every day!

So what’s up next for the Little Miss?  Some much needed REST!!! 🙂

  1. I LOVE reading your posts and seeing the pictures. I can even “hear” your voice in my head as I read the posts. Is that weird or what?!

BTW, what is the latest on Mike’s knee?

We had such a great time and are missing all of you already. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Hope Mike is walking better now!
