June 9th = 11 months + 30 years

June 9th was an extra special day in the Wright Hacienda, because on that day the Little Miss turned 11 months old AND her Daddy turned 30 years old (cue “over the hill” jokes)!

Now 30 years is quite a milestone (I wouldn’t know, of course, as I’m determined to be “29 and a bit” until my dying day), so the Little Party Animal and I were determined to celebrate Daddy with as much hoopla as we could muster. This amounted to a dinner party with the extended Wright family, birthday morning breakfast surprise, date night for Mommy and Daddy (thanks to the McGees!) and dinner party with some dear friends from church.

I guess you could call it more of a birthweek than a birthday

During the Wright party, the Little Lady was happy to sit on Grandpop’s lap, where the cake and ice cream were flowin’…And to crawl around so she could share secrets with her Grammie.

And what would a month-milestone be without another crazy baby photo shoot?  This time I waited until Mike got home from work so that he could help me to wrangle the Little Model.  But despite our best efforts, containing the wiggles was just as comical as ever!

Oh well.  There’s always next month, right?

Here’s to you, Daddy and Little Miss!  We love you!

Happy Easter!

Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed!

We had a great time celebrating the Little Lady’s first Easter…

(Disclaimer: Party-pooper Daddy wants to inform you that this is the only headband-sanctioned event this year)

The holiday weekend was extra special because it included a visit from Nena and Pops.  The Little Miss had a ball playing with her grandparents, and celebrating Nena’s birthday.  I’m not going to tell you how old Nena is…let’s just say she’s Socially Secure now (and I’m not talking about BFFs)!

It was a wonderful and blessed holiday weekend.  Now we’re just looking forward to next Easter when the Little Miss can give the Easter Bunny a run for his money!

The Lady Wrights Are Takin’ Over!

Hey world!  It’s me, Annabelle.  Or “Anna-Belly-Boo-Boo”, as Mama likes to call me…just hopefully not in public.  Guess who visited me a few weekends ago?  Aunt Laura!  Or “Aunt Lolly”, as I like to call her.

Like any good hostess, I pulled out all the stops to show her a good time.  Activity number one?  Why, going to the park, of course!

But the fun didn’t stop there!  Oh no, ladies and gentlemen, I had many more tricks up my sleeves!

I mesmerized her with glimpses at my FOUR new teeth (on top)…

I enlightened her by showing off some of the latest fashions in hat-wear…

And I amazed her with my talent for taming wild beasts.  Yeah, I like to think of myself as the “Puppy-Dog-Whisperer” (though Mama will tell you that when I see Teddy, I don’t do a whole lot of whispering).

In Aunt Lolly’s spare time, she helped Mama and Grammie throw Aunt Courtney a Baby Shower.  That’s right, y’all, a brand-new Baby Girl Wright is on the way!  Now don’t ask me why anyone would have their guests take showers during a party…but the adults in my life seem to do all sorts of silly things these days!

…I mean, try this one on for size.  Mama had lots of yummy treats for the party.  But then she also made a diaper cake and put it on the center of the table!  Now even I know that you can’t eat diapers (believe me…I’ve tried!).  I sure hope Aunt Courtney and the baby know that!

It sure was fun having all of the girls together for the weekend.  Because lemme tell you, folks, after years of being in the minority, the Lady Wrights are finally takin’ over!
