A Look Back: Happy Stars and Stripes!

Hey Peeps.  It’s me, the Little Miss.  The Little Mister is around too…he’s just taking a nap…on Mommy.  That poor woman.  Someone needs to get her a massage (hint hint, Daddy!).

Well I’ve gotta tell you, we’ve have quite a summer.  It all kicked off with my Little Brother being born in June.  I think he’s pretty cool, though he doesn’t do much these days other than eat, sleep, and make “stinky poo-poo diapers” (as I like to call them).  But I love holding him and giving him big smooches.  And I love it when he smiles at me.  My only problem is all of the new rules I have to follow, now that he’s around.  Mama’s always telling me things like “be gentle,” “use a quiet voice,” “don’t push the swing when baby brother is sleeping,” and “he doesn’t like it when you stick your finger up his nose.”  Sheesh!  What’s a girl gotta do to have some fun around here?  And I’m pretty sure that my Baby Bro would love me to sing loudly as I push him “big high” in the swing…all while picking his nose for him!

Anyhoo, we’ve done lots of fun things over the summer.  One of my favorite days was when we went to a July 4th party with my best pal, Mini Mug, and his family.  It was so fun (and hot!)!

There were balloons…

Yummy treats galore…

A fire truck that we got to explore (I’m pretty sure that my pal and I would be awesome fire fighters)…

And a stars and stripes parade!

Sweet wheels, huh?  The car is not mine, but being the assertive Little Lady that I am, I took it upon myself to give it a whirl.  And can you blame me?!  I look GOOD!

In case you were wondering, the Little Mister was there too.  He was only a few weeks old then, so he spent the afternoon snoozin’ in his stroller.

Now for all of you who are worried that the Little Sleeper got the short end of the stick, while we partied it up with cotton candy, snow cones, games, parades, and more, let me put you at ease.  We may have had a great time, but he got to kick back and enjoy a little R&R while we (i.e. Mama) pushed him around and sweated it out in the hot, hot North Carolina sun.

Little Mister: “Chumps!”

Yeah, he’s a smart Little One.  I’m gonna have to keep my eye on him…

We hope you all had a Happy 4th of July!  And a fun summer, too!

P.S.  We all must have been lookin’ good that day, because a reporter pulled Daddy aside to ask him about the festivities.  I’m not sure what Daddy told the guy, but I’m a little worried that he doesn’t know who we are!  …Or that reporter-guy is a little bit lazy with his note-taking skills.  Either way, check out the link to see what I mean…

Hope you had a Happy Easter!

The Little Miss did quite well over the Easter holiday.  She was able to enjoy not just one Easter Egg hunt, but TWO that weekend…the first orchestrated by Aunt Laura (a.k.a. “Aunt Lolly”) and Uncle Jon, and the second by Mommy and Daddy.

Our Little Bunny LOVED the thrill of the hunt, and would yell out “I GOT ZEE EGG!” with a huge smile on her face whenever she found one.  Funny enough, she didn’t seem to care if the eggs actually contained anything, meaning that the adults were able to enjoy lots of sweet treats after the hunts concluded.

Here are some fun photos from the weekend…

The sweet Easter satisfaction…

And just in case you didn’t get enough, here’s a video of one of the Little Lady’s egg hunts.  Try to ignore the minor meltdown at the end…it’s not easy containing so much excitement and sugar within one wee toddler body! 🙂

Type in “belly” to watch…

It was a really fun (and delicious!) weekend.  We hope you all had a very HAPPY EASTER as well!

A Prelude to Easter

The Little Miss and her best buddy got to enjoy a little “Easter appetizer” this past weekend.  Followed closely by their camera-toting parents, they were able to enjoy some games, treats, a puppet show, and an Easter egg hunt at a local church.

Hula hoop toss?  I think not.  More like a hula hoop boogie!

Group discussion about the nuances of the bean bag toss game.

Clearly the “rules of the game” are just suggestions when you are a toddler.
Taking after her rather competitive Mommy, she was in it to win it!

After having spent herself on the bean bag toss floor, crankiness was setting in.
Cupcakes to the rescue!

Just in time for…

The Easter Egg Hunt!

Sadly, we didn’t get a shot of the two Little Egg Hunters actually standing together, looking cheerful.  But don’t let that fool you…they had a great time!
