Introducing the newest Little Wright!

(Emailed on Friday, June 15)

They say a second child usually arrives faster than the first.  With that in mind, we decided to pop by the hospital today to try to kick things off early (albeit a few days late).  It turns out, “they” were right.  Two hours after “kicking things off” with a low dose of pitocin, we had another baby on our hands.  Julie did an amazing job, though I don’t know if she followed our nurse’s advice to “have fun with it.” (Fortunately I followed the advice and came less close to passing out with sympathy labor pains.)

Elliott Michael Wright was born at 12:31pm.  He is a happy and healthy boy, weighing 9lb 2oz and measuring 21 inches long.  Mama and baby are doing great, and big sister Annabelle already loves her little brother (though she may not realize he’s coming home with us yet).

Until next time (~2 years),

Changes are a comin’…

Howdy, partners.  It’s the Little Miss Cowgirl here.  I hope you’re all doin’ well, this right fine day.

So me and my trusty steed – Twinkle Toes, that is – were roaming the range the other day.
…Just soakin’ up some sun and enjoyin’ a bit of light reading.

…Because let me tell you, folks, “horsises” may be my preferred way of travel, but “choo choo trains” are a close second.  It’s the cowgirl way.

As Twinkle Toes trotted along, I got to thinkin’…There are gonna be some big changes happening at the Wright farmstead real darn soon.  Because in about 10 weeks, I’m gonna have to start sharing my wide open prairie with a new Little Cowboy.

Mommy and Daddy, the sheriffs in these here parts, got to see the Little Buckeroo about 2 weeks ago…

(His face, hidden behind his left arm and one of his feet)

The kindly doctor said my little brother was looking good.  He’s shootin’ to beat me in the weight department, but I ain’t scared.  I figure I already gotta leg up on him, what with me being so much older and all.

Nah, I figure we’ll get along just fine…just as soon as I teach him the ropes and get him out ridin’ on his own pony.  Because you know what they say…

“If you’re not makin’ dust, you’re eattin’ it.”

Well, Twinkle Toes and I best be moseying along.  Take care, ya hear?

YEE-HAW!

We have some SUPER news!

Hello, ladies and gents!  This is the Little Superhero, with some super news to share!!!

Well, for some time now I’ve known that I’m going to be a BIG SISTER!!!!  That’s right…sometime around June 12th there’s going to be a new Little Wright joining my family!

Mommy has been telling me for a while that there is a “baby” in her belly.  But every time I lift up her shirt to see for myself, I only see her tummy!  So I’m not really sure where this new baby is living these days.

But one thing I DO know, and am so excited to share, is that today we found out that I’m going to be the Big Sister of a…

BABY BOY!!!!

WAHOO!!!  I can’t wait for the Little Mister to get here so that I can teach him all of my (Little) superhero powers.  …Like how to climb on furniture (when Mama isn’t looking), turn our dog into a pony (Teddy just “loves” that!), and woo the likes of any grandparent with nothing more than a smile and a giggle (they’re like putty in my hands).

Once I get my Little Sidekick good and trained, together we’ll be unstoppable!

Mommy also said that my Little Bro looked healthy and active during the ultrasound, just like I did when I was in her tummy.  He wiggled all over the place, and then got the hiccups!

So get ready, world – the Little Wrights are takin’ over!

Alright, I must be off.  The life of a Little Superhero is always busy, busy, busy…go, go, go.  Well, until I get tired.  Or hungry.  Or just need a cuddle.

P.S.  Mommy also told me to report that some Christmas blogs are coming…Better late than never, right?!?
