Celebrating the Little Missy’s 1/2 Birthday

The plight of the Summer Birthday Baby is real, people.

Birthdays come and birthdays go, but there are no school buddies around to celebrate with!

There are none, that is, unless you go to Triangle Presbyterian Preschool and Kindergarten (TPPK), and the sweet teachers there let you celebrate your 1/2 birthday with your class!

And bring your Mama along too!

The teachers at TPPK, like Miss Kathy and Miss Julie, are AMAZING.  Seriously, people, God did something really special when He made preschool teachers.  Like broke the mold, special.  I could not do what they do.

It was such a fun day.  We read a favorite book (“On The Night You Were Born”), made some neat artwork, and noshed on some delicious donuts.  The Little Miss picked them out, so of course they were chocolate-chocolate-chocolate.

That’s my girl.

The Little Mister got to join us for the 1/2 birthday celebration, and chapel too.  He was pretty excited about it!

(Ever tried praying with a 3-year-old boy?  It’s a lot like trying to have a deep, contemplative moment while embracing – and trying not to drop – a big, wiggly, somewhat talkative blob of jello.)

Also exciting, the Little Missy’s pal, Samuel, and I got to bond over our love of all things DUKE.  There were some gasps from the Tarheels and Demon Deacons sitting around the table, but we stayed strong in our Blue Devil pride.

It was a fun day, with the most fun 5 1/2 year old Little Miss!

Christmas Play ~ 2015

After three years of playing supportive roles, it finally happened.

The Little Miss got her big, shining moment as a cast member of the much prepared for, the much anticipated, the much lauded…

TPPK Christmas Play

With the many practices, role changes (apparently angels don’t get in on enough of the action), name adjustments (“I’m not a ‘Wise Man’ or a ‘Wise Woman’…I’m a ‘Wise MEN!'”), and wardrobe refinements (how much glittery fabric can one affix to oneself without falling over?), it was sure to be a doozy of a day.

The build up

The Little Miss was BEYOND excited.

The Little Mister?  Well, he rolled with it…and mostly looked forward to the cookies.

Though I do not envy all the work Miss Kathy had to do to corral her merry band of players, it was a really sweet day.  And we were so proud of our Little Thespians!
