Last Day of School for the Little Sir

3 Year Old Preschool Class
Graduate!

(Shoes optional…for photos, at least)

He’s such a doll.

We adore him,

and all his silly ways.

The Little Sir had the best time this year at the Chapel Hill Bible Church Preschool.  He was a member of the 3-Year-Old Frogs class, and he had a BLAST.  From pirate ships (with treasure!) to camping tents, and “Tut-tut, it looks like rain!” parties to make-your-own pancake feasts, the Little Sir enjoyed a school year FULL of fun adventures and sweet moments.

He even learned to memorize Psalm 23!  What an accomplishment!

Don’t let his face fool you…that’s his “Give me a break, Mommy – I want to be playing outside and NOT taking photos!” look.  He had a wonderful year with Miss Chantel and Miss Grace.  We are so thankful for how they loved on and encouraged our sweet, shy, tenderhearted Little Boy.  They were so creative and gentle, and helped him to open up in the loveliest of ways.

It takes a village to raise a child, no doubt.  And we are so deeply grateful for our village.

Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it…

Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise,
and apply your heart to my knowledge,
for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you,
if all of them are ready on your lips.
That your trust may be in the Lord,
I have made them known to you today.

Proverbs 22: 6, 17-19

Spring Trip North

It was April.  Life was busy.  And as every parent knows, with school year activities coming to an end, life was getting far busier by the minute.  What better time for a…

CRAZY MESSY HOUSE PROJECT!

Yep.  Because that’s how we Wrights role.

HARDCORE.
TO THE MAX.
And POSSIBLY LACKING IN COMMON SENSE OR IMPULSE CONTROL.

And with poor Daddy Mike (heretofore known as “The Labor”) consumed with said project dreamed up by Mama Julie (otherwise known as “Management”), what better time for a…

ROADTRIP!

That’s right.  We were northern bound….with Annapolis and Philadelphia in our sights.

And a LOT of 95 traffic in between.  Grrrrrr.

But we’ll put up with (most) anything for the chance to see these Hooligans.

Even Uncle Willy showed up!  That’s a very special treat.

Even if he is a Hairy Mongrel.

We even got the chance to be there to celebrate Nena’s birthday.  She’s one lucky gal to have so much ENTHUSIASM for turning another year older!

Baffled by the whole one-candle-silliness, the Littles are strategizing how we can fit ALL of her candles on the cake for next year’s fesitivites.

The Fire Brigade may need to be on speed dial.

Before our Little Crew drove up to Philly, we had a few additional days in Annapolis when MEAN MOMMY made the kids do schoolwork.  It was…shall we say…rough.  There may have been tears.  And some hootin’.  And hollerin’.  But we persevered and ended each school day with a fun field trip.

So maybe, oh sweet children of mine, life ain’t all that bad…

Ecological hike along the Chesapeake

Maryland Farm Trip

Cheseapeake Bay Foundation Nature Preserve

I sent this photo below to my Honey so he wouldn’t forget me.  Or his tasklist.  HA!

Ahhhh…it’s good to be a kid.

Then we topped off the trip with a quick jaunt to Philadelphia.  There we got to participate in a Nature Study with the Garecht cousins, and go to their Art Show.

Suffice to say, we LOVE our cousins.  They’re crazy.

Just like us.
