The Little Sir is TWO!

It’s a big day, people.

I’m sitting here, chatting with you all (in my head), and NOT holding a baby.
All while my third-born, my Doll-Face, my Sweetheart,

my Little Sir just turned TWO!

Say what?!?

To be more clear, this is the first time I’ve had a child turn two without having (dramatically) birthed another child just weeks before.  In all honesty, I can barely remember what it was like celebrating the Little Miss and Little Mister when they turned two because I was in such a fog.  So this birthday is all new to me.

But back to the Little Sir.  Though really, that title is a bit of a misnomer.  Because as of late our newly minted two-year-old has become what we affectionately call in our house, the Little Boss.

This kid 100% gen-u-ine BEEF (or more like Lil’ Beefcake), and he means BIZ-NESS.  He has no problem flexing his muscles and making his opinions known.

LOTS of opinions, which to my amazement all seem to incorporate the phrase “No, Mom!”

Like his siblings, he’s curious and adventurous, and always into EVERYTHING.

Especially the laundry.  (He’s mostly a dumping and buttons man.  If I could just get him to fold it all I’d be golden.)

The Little Sir continues to absolutely adore his older siblings and thinks they’re tops (unless they get in the way of his laundry duties, of course, or if there’s a “gah-bage twuck!” nearby).

And he is determined to keep up and be one of the gang…the gang of feral monkeys, that is.

The Little Mister is definitely the Little Sir’s aspirational star and Chief Rabble-Rouser.  I have no doubt that those two will get into a whole heap of mischief together as they grow up.

Follow his siblings, though he does, this kid is not to be underestimated.  The Little Sir has a style and a personality all his own, and he ain’t afraid to show it.

He’s smart and inquisitive and oh-so determined, and he loves to keep us on our toes.
(Don’t be swayed by that innocent face, this boy is precocious!)

And he keeps us laughing.  Taking after his Daddy, the kid loves to ham it up and has a whole trove of jokes that he will tell…most of which start with “knock knock” and end with some punchline about farts.  Go figure.

Oh my sweetheart, my Little Lovebug.  I cannot believe that he is two already.  Though really that doesn’t change anything because in my mind he’s gonna be my baby FOR-EV-ER.

I mean, I gotta give him something to talk to the psychologist about when he’s older.  I just see it as my contribution to our nation’s economy (you’re welcome, President Obama!).

We love you, sweet TWO-YEAR-OLD Little Sir William.  You may have come as a surprise, but now we couldn’t imagine our lives without you!!!

A Little Love For Today…

Each Thursday the kids at Triangle Presbyterian Preschool finish their school day with a fun chapel service.  I typically try to attend with the Little Sir, but I was pretty exhausted that morning and in need of some quiet time at home with my youngest Little.

When I arrived at school to pick up the Little Miss and Little Mister I was told that chapel was a bit more eventful than usual.  Apparently the Little Mister had gotten upset about something and started crying (which is pretty unusual for my laid-back boy).  His Big Sister saw that he was upset and hurried over to put her arms around him.  Then she sat with him for the rest of chapel, giving him lots of encouraging hugs and kisses.

Sibling love.  It’s pretty great, ain’t it?
